Easybridge Class Schedule
EASYBRIDGE BOOK ONE
New Easybridge class to start February 15, 2010, at 7 P.M. Invite anyone you know that wants to learn to play bridge to join this class. The first four classes are FREE. After that the charge is $5 per week for the lesson and game. Workbooks are optional, but very helpful. The cost is $12 for Book 1 which has 15 lessons. This class is geared for those that have never played bridge before. It is also for those that have played some social bridge or played years ago and want to start again.

February 22 Where to Play
Open all 12 point hands; respond with 6 points

March 1 How High to Bid
Simple Raise, 1NT response, 1/1 response,
2/1 response = 10 points or more
March 8 Defensive Bidding: Overcalls
A good 5-card suit
Responder raises as if opened
March 15 Takeout Doubles and Pass
Shape for a takeout double
Responder MUST answer
March 22 Notrump Responses
1NT – 2NT = 8 – 9 points
1NT – 3NT = 10 – 15 points
2C asks for a 4 card major
Transfers tell a 5-card major
March 29 Bigger Offensive Hands
Jump in own suit = Invitational
Jump in new suit = Forcing
April 5 Preempts
Big bids for long suits and low points!

Lead TOWARD the unsupported honor you are trying to make good.
May 17 Common Plays at Notrump
Driving out a high card. The Finesse.
Long spot cards and The HOLDUP.
May 24 Playing Suit Contracts
COUNT your immediate and eventual losers.
